Remote Learning
When can you expect remote learning?
Remote learning will be provided on Seesaw for children who are isolating because of a positive COVID test result or because they have to isolate for some other reason. Occasionally children have other reasons when to stay at home because, for example, they have broken a bone and are unable to come in. We don't expect children to do work at home if they are ill. And we won't provide learning if parents choose to take a child out of school and this absence is unauthorised.
How does it work?
We have a well developed system of remote learning using an online platform called Seesaw. We also use Seesaw for sharing children's learning in the EYFS and for setting homework in Key Stage 1. Seesaw allows us to post work for the children to complete or respond to. They may be asked to take and upload a picture, make something, type or draw something - there are lots of ways for them to show their learning.
Each child is sent a QR code and/or a log in. We have used the platform successfully when setting work for whole classes during bubble closure and individuals who have had to isolate. If you need to ask about any aspect of the platform or the learning, call or email the school please.
