Ofsted Outstanding in all areas - November 2023

Diversity Programme

Everyone is welcome at The Grove Infant and Nursery School: everyone is different, and everyone is welcome.

We are proud of our commitment to educating pupils about the diverse world we live in.  We are developing a Diversity Programme to enable children to understand the benefits of a diverse society and prepares them for life in modern Britain.

The aim is to build acceptance of difference and celebration of every individual.

Through a progressive range of picture books, children are all taught about diversity: this includes all elements of The Equality Act including race, religion, gender, age, disability and sexual orientation.

Children will:

  • Build their self esteem and feeling of belonging
  • Build their resilience from knowing who they, and others, are
  • Be better prepared for modern Britain
  • Feel safe and secure, knowing that difference is something to be celebrated.

The following books are examples of those used throughout the school:

Can I Join Your Club?
