The Grove Infant and Nursery School

Achieving our potential in our creative learning community

Dear Parents and Carers,

A good news story to share with you all - please tell your children all about this.

Nia Marriott is in Chestnut class. Following a conversation at home about why food shouldn't be wasted and children going without food during the current crisis, Nia came up with the idea of raising money for children who need food.  Her mother decided to help her by organising a ‘School run fun run’ where Nia and her classmates would do the usual school run but in fancy dress and so on 29th May Nia and her friends arrived in the car park all dressed up - even though they were not coming into school at that point.

Nia and her class raised £680 in the end! They donated it to a church in Luton that organises food parcels and Nia and her mother went to the church that was receiving the funds to help pack some of the food hampers. The money raised will help to feed over 300 children for a week!

I am sure you will join with me in congratulating Nia and Chestnut class on their fantastic efforts - I am very proud of them, as is Miss Holt.  We all need to remember to be kind and think of others don't we.

Yours sincerely

Anna Archer
