Community Links
At The Grove Infant and Nursery, we are proud of our links to our school in the community. We believe that serving and working with the community strengthens learning, builds confidence and supports children to feel valued. Our links with the community create opportunities for children to learn beyond the classroom. We welcome parents and carers to join us, share ideas and take part in community activities that reflect the values of respect, aspiration and resilience as well as further developing the children's understanding of kindness and inclusion.
Parents as Partners
Parents play an active role in school life volunteering to hear children read and attending school trips. We also welcome parents to share their skills and expertise through delivering workshops and assemblies that are linked to their jobs or faith. This partnership enriches the curriculum, inspires our pupils and strengthens the connection between school and home.

Supporting our Local Care Home
Children have started to visit a new local Care Home where they can spend time interacting with elderly residents, sharing stories, singing and building meaningful intergenerational relationships.

Links with The Grove Junior School
We work very closely with The Grove Junior School through shared activities throughout the year including shared reading in World Book Day, sharing celebrations such as VE day, children watching performances and projects. We have a very strong transition programme to ensure that our children transition to the Juniors smoothly and confidently. The strong partnership helps to ensure the children are ready and prepared for the next stage of their education.

Local Visits
We enjoy trips in the local area, these include walks in and around Harpenden and visits to St Alban's Cathedral and the St John's Church. These are aimed at developing their independence and giving them a deeper understanding of the area and community around them.
